How to secure your computer

Security cameras, gates and alarm systems won't protect you against cyber hackers out there

We all want to feel secure and oftentimes we picture a threat to our security as a thief that comes in the middle of the night and steals our valuables.

So we put up security cameras, gates and alarm systems.

However, many do not think that the threat could simply be lurking behind a computer.

Threats may include malware, hackers or people trying to scam you through email.

Here are 5 things you can do to keep your computer secure:

  1. Make sure your computer or device has a decent firewall
  2.  Install decent anti-virus software
  3.  Keep your computer up to date
  4. Only visit secure sites (the url will have the word ‘secure’ with a lock next to it )
  5. Keep your password safe and difficult to guess

There are plenty of other ways to keep your computer secure, but the above are the easiest ways to ensure your cyber security.
