According to Madadeni SAPS Corporate Communications and Liaison Officer, Captain M.B. Nkosi, the accused handed himself over to the police on April 21.

“The suspect came to the Madadeni police station and informed CSC officials he had a confession to make. He then informed officials he had murdered his girlfriend in March, and buried her body in a shallow grave.”

According to the suspect, he and Makhanya got into a fierce argument, which ultimately led to him strangling her.

After he realised she was dead, he went outside and dug a shallow grave in his backyard.

“He then returned to the house, and dragged her body to the open grave, and buried her.”
