Protest Update: 10 trucks torched, N3 still closed at Mooi River (No Go Area)

Police, RTI and the fire department are currently at the scene

10 trucks have been torched on the N3 at the Mooi River Toll Plaza, and also a truck burnt at the R103 intersection with the R622 (Greytown road).

Vehicles are at a standstill at the toll gate and along the roadside, waiting for everything to clear.

For now, the area is a ‘No Go Zone’.

Vehicles are also parked at the Engen Garage and KFC, waiting for the roadway to open.

Reports of looters trying to break in at the nearby Spar in Mooi River have emerged. They were evidently chased away from the area.
