If you are travelling home via the N3, heading towards Gauteng, be aware that it is very busy and there are a lot of heavy vehicles on the road today (May 1).

Motorists are warned to be alert on the roads.

Please ensure that your passengers are not sleeping, but helping you scout the road for potential obstructions.

Watch out for potential rock-throwing incidents when travelling near a bridge or overpass, and take lots of refreshments in the car.

On the positive side, good weather conditions are reported on the N3.
