Is prostitution taking over Ladysmith?
According to police, investigations are continuing regarding this matter

People are complaining that the problem of prostitution is getting worse in Ladysmith.
Concerned residents say they see many prostitutes in Settlers Drive at night, prowling for business. Prostitutes are also seen in Forbes Street every day, where they evidently “flash” motorists to further entice would-be customers.
As part of the first phase in a long-term crime prevention initiative, police and social workers from the Department of Social Development swooped on Forbes Street on Friday, March 9, to address concerns by the public about underage prostitution.
A 17-year-old boy was one of those interviewed by police during the operation. The teenager was removed and is being assisted in terms of the Child Care Act.

People have expressed shock at the number of prostitutes who seem to be taking over Ladysmith, and have complained about young girls and boys being involved in prostitution.
“This is really sad and something needs to be done about it, as children are involved in these activities,” said a concerned resident.
According to police, investigations are continuing regarding this matter.
