Forestdale and Dlamini village communities are fed up

'We are fed up with the lies and the empty promises from Endumeni Municipality'

The communities of Forestdale and Dlamini village took to the Endumeni municipal offices this morning to vent their grievances.

The angry mob did not let anything or anyone get in their way, even when Mayor Mbatha tried reasoning with them, they kept shouting “we are tired of your lies “.

The newly appointed Municipal Manager Siyabonga Ntuli said he will not speak on behalf of the previous Municipal Manager, Lwazi Cindi as he was not there when he made all those promises to the communities, but “I can assure you that by the May 23 I will come back with feedback on the new processes that I have already implemented for this housing project.”

Mayor Mbatha concluded by saying ” we can not allow the community to tell us which contractor they want, but there is no-one stopping that contractor from bidding for this project, you will have your houses”. As the municipality, we have processes to follow as well which I assure you that by June 6 the processes will be finalised, he continued.
