Fake gun thief strikes

The car was recovered on Sunday, April 29, past Mooi Plaza by Dundee Digit Vehicle Tracking.

A fake gun was used as a scare tactic when the driver of a Yeyeye taxi was hijacked on April 27 around 10pm outside Siyabonga shebeen in Dundee.
The driver was called by one of the culprits to collect him and his two other friends. When the driver of the cab got to the shebeen, one of the culprits pulled the fake gun on the driver, assaulted him and drove off with the car.

This is the fake gun that was used to scare the driver of the cab.

They took the driver’s ID book, cell phone, and wallet before dropping him off on the Wasbank Road that same night.

The car was recovered on Sunday, April 29, past Mooi Plaza by Dundee Digit Vehicle Tracking. “What these three men did was uncalled for, but I am glad that they have been arrested,” said Thokozani Nstele, the COO of Dundee Digit Vehicle Tracking.
He also advised the community to be very vigilant as there is a high number of robberies and hijackings in the area. Thokozani also stated that every vehicle owner should have a tracking device on their vehicles, as they help in such incidents.
