Watch: Fountain in Egerton Road caused by burst water pipe

Water was gushing out at an astonishing rate and with heavy pressure, over 20m into the air

A burst pipe saw a fountain of water shooting up into the air in Egerton Road yesterday afternoon (June 13).

The cause of the burst pipe is unknown at this stage, yet there were workers in the area digging and working at the side of the road.

Water was seen gushing out at an astonishing rate and with heavy pressure, over 20 metres into the air.

Many motorists had a difficult time driving along the road due to the cascading water.

Schoolchildren walking in the area were amazed at the sight of the water and the beautiful rainbow that was created.
