Leaving a Legacy 2018 laces up for charity once again
According to co-organiser, Johan Pieters of Champ Marketing they are extremely excited for the Blood Buddy Memel to Newcastle Walk this year.
On Women’s Day (August 9) the annual Blood Buddy Memel to Newcastle Walk will take place.
Yet again, team Leaving a Legacy will lace up to take the road for local charity.
The walk is organised by Champ Marketing as an outreach program to local charities each year, and in previous years, Team LAL raised more than R50 000 for their chosen charities.

This year marks the fourth anniversary of the team’s efforts, which is why Team LAL joined with various local organisations to raise awareness for Esperanza Special Needs School. The proceeds for the walk will also be donated to the school to help fund many necessary items for the school and its children.
According to Susan Pitout (LAL representative) the team is looking forward to partnering with Esperanza School in order to improve the lives of many of Newcastle’s special needs children.
“I am very excited about this year’s project, and I know that like the previous year’s, Newcastle residents will stand up and join hands with us to improve the lives of those who need it. Newcastle and its people has never let us down,” said Pitout.
Pitout also explained this year they would approach the walk a bit differently than previously.
Team LAL wil be asking 100 people around Newcastle to put their hands up and pledge to “count me in,” under the hashtag #Club100.
These 100 people will then have the opportunity to challenge 10 friends, family members or businesses to also make the R100 pledge.
Whether you want to take on the 50 km relay or just support the walkers, you can still contribute to improving the lives of those in need.
For more information on Team LAL, contact Susan Pitout on 084 492 9588 or visit the Leaving a Legacy Facebook page to get your pledge form.
