Update: Truck drivers’ protest causes KZN traffic backlog

Motorists are urged to delay their trips or use alternative routes

The truck drivers’ protest on the N3 at Van Reenen has caused traffic backlogs all across KZN.

Due to the protest, the N1 Bloemfontein area is still blocked.

The Tugela East Toll Plaza and Tugela Toll Plaza are still closed.

Only light motor vehicles are allowed through Mooi River.

Trucks are being turned around by the authorities at Mooi River, back to Durban, to alleviate the volume of vehicles on Van Reenen’s Pass.

Motorists are urged to delay their trips or use alternative routes, ie R74 and N11.

All authorities and emergency services are on scene, monitoring the situation.
