Al-Imdaad spread warmth this winter

The Al-Imdaad Foundation launched its Operation Winter Warmth programme on Monday in the uThukela District.

Blankets and warm hats were distributed in the jurisdiction of Alfred Duma Local Municipality.

Operation Winter Warmth is an annual initiative of the Al-Imdaad Foundation which ensures that blankets and other winter accessories reach communities in need.

Al-Imdaad Foundation teams conducted two distributions as part of the launch of Operation Winter Warmth in the district.

The first distribution took place at Thembesizwe Primary School and was attended by Mayor Vincent Madlala as well as uThukela District Mayor Siphiwe Mazibuko. The teams distributed 50 hygiene packs and 100 warm hats to learners at the school as part of the programme.

The second distribution took place at the Emachibini Hall in the rural Umhlumayo area and was also attended by the district mayor. At this distribution, the focus was on the elderly, and 100 blankets and 30 walking sticks were distributed to senior citizens from the area.

By working together with local authorities, Al-Imdaad was able to reach out with warmth to the young and old of the uThukela District.

Similar distributions have also been undertaken by Al-Imdaad teams in other provinces and areas, including the Western Cape, Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and Coastal KwaZulu-Natal.
