Watch: Gas cylinder explodes outside Ladysmith home, leaving residents in shock
The loud bang of the explosion was heard throughout the entire Hospital Park area and even as far as Van Riebeeck Park

A gas bottle exploded on Monday night (June 25) at a home in Schoon Street.
The family say they saw flames coming out of the gas heater in their living room.
One of the residents quickly jumped into action and ran out of the home with the entire heater.
A matter of seconds later, the gas bottle exploded, sending shock waves through the area.
The loud bang was heard throughout the entire Hospital Park area and even in Van Riebeeck Park.

Due to the sheer force of the explosion, all the front windows of the house shattered.
The residents say they were in a state of shock afterwards and are lucky to be alive.
The Fire Department, Public Safety, police and emergency personnel responded to the scene.
No one was injured in the explosion.
