Unyaka wakho host fun filled June 16 celebration in Rensburgdrift

Just about every game you can remember playing as a child was featured on the programme; from chess to skipping, and table tennis and much, much more

To mark Youth Day on June 16, the Unyaka wakho youth Foundation, (Advocates for change) hosted a fun, jam-packed programme. Just about every game you can remember playing as a child was featured on the programme; from chess to skipping, and table tennis and much, much more.

Before the fun and games, an ambassador of Unyaka Wakho Youth Foundation Miss Namutula Mukelabai, a first year physiotherapy student at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Westville campus, spoke on the importance of June 16.
Riverdale Primary, Estcourt High, Drakensberg Secondary, Bhekathina High, Ithemba Primary and Estcourt Secondary school learners attended the event in Rensburgdrift.

The day was graced by the presence of Mr Sihle Mooi, the Chief Executive Officer of Rays of Hope, who travelled from Johannesburg to attend. Mr Mooi delivered a moving and motivational speech to all the youngsters present.
The games were both fun yet competitive.

The day was capped off with yummy treats and each person was awarded a medal and certificate. Unyaka wakho youth Foundation thanks Mr Mooi for his support, the talented Ingoma and Indlamu groups and the Unyaka Wakho Youth Foundation ambassadors. “We’d also like to thank Sergeant Mkhize from the Estcourt SAPS Youth Desk and Sister Nokuthula from the Adolescent Youth and Friendly services (AYFS) of Forderville Clinic,” said the Founder of Unyaka wakho, Mrs Gamede.

Further thanks went to Guider Sizakele Mabaso from Mahlubi High, Vishal Maharaj, Mr N Mnculwane the former Principal of Phumalanga Primary School, Mr B Greaves, Mrs N Skhosana, Mrs R Mbatha, Mr Magubane, the School Governing Body, Mrs DHB Gamede as well as Sne Mnculwane.
