Zama High wins national choral competition

'Something always good comes from Zama High'

The Zama High School Choir was again finely tuned as they took top honours in the South African Schools Choir Eisteddfod held in Randburg last month.
The Dannhauser school was up against the top school singing talent in the country, but Zama High, chosen to represent KZN after being crowned Provincial champions, held their own.
The school competed in category A, made up of secondary schools, that have won the national competition previously.
Angie Motsega, National Education Minister, presented the prizes and in her speech noted that ‘good things always come from Zama High’ and paid tribute to principal, Oscar Kubheka.

The school was one of the top performers in last year’s matric exams.
The minister appreciated the good deeds done by Zama High School and also encouraged other schools to take notice of the good practices.
Said Minister Motsega: “We pride ourselves in what Zama High School is doing academically and musically.
“The principal has always made it a point that there is effective teaching and learning at all times.
“Choral music, which he conducts himself, is doing exactly like the matric results which is always to be on top.”
