Nquthu Council brings smiles to school children
"Municipalities have a mandate to provide basic services, but we strongly believe that it takes the whole village to raise a child. ''

Nquthu Council did their bit for rural schools to mark Mandela Month. Mayor, SM Kunene, and his Councillors visited Sibanini Primary School, Kwanyei Primary, Magabeni Primary and Vezinhlanhla Primary where they handed out much-needed uniforms to deserving children.
“Municipalities have a mandate to provide basic services, but we strongly believe that it takes the whole village to raise a child. Education is the key to success. It is one of the most powerful instruments for reducing poverty and inequality and lays a foundation for sustained economic growth,” Mayor Kunene told the Courier.

“These children are the future of this area and we, therefore, need to nurture their talent by all means and ensure that they get the best education under the circumstances. At Nquthu Municipality, we pride ourselves in the development of our children, while fostering adequate partnerships with relevant stakeholders in making sure that our children’s future becomes a bright possibility.”
