Sewage has been streaming down the street for a month

Residents and business owners in Murchison Street are disgusted and disgruntled after sewage has been streaming down the street for about a month.

“We have reported it, but nothing seems to have been done about it yet,” resident Haylene Wallace stated.

uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza has commented on this issue.

“Our plumbers and engineers have established that the main cause of the sewer spillage in question is the foreign objects that are deposited in our sewer line.

“However, further investigations are underway to determine the extent of the vandalism and the situation will be put under our watchful eye to make sure such action is addressed so that our system is able to function without any interruption,” said Mkhonza.
