The uThukela District Municipality Carnival was scheduled to take place on September 28 and 29.
The carnival has however been postponed until further notice.
The organisers decided to postpone the carnival this morning (September 20).
uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza stated the following:
“The organisers this morning took the decision to postpone the uThukela District Carnival following the publicity of the events through posters, resulting in our offices being inundated with calls from the public who feel they were left out as participants. The decision to postpone the carnival was therefore taken to accommodate such people.

“Having said that, we can assure the public that every relevant stakeholder, including the local municipalities, was consulted during the planning phase. The decision to postpone the events has since been communicated to our sponsor, Tourism KZN. We would like to send our sincere apology to the public for the inconvenience caused. New dates will be communicated in due course.”
