Local model seeking sponsorship to Singapore

She has only been able to raise R3 000 and still has R10 000 outstanding for her flight ticket in order to take part in Singapore.

Kwazikwenkosi Mbanjwa (24) from Nquthu, has been selected to take part in the Miss Lumiere International world 2018, taking place in Singapore.

However, she needs funds for her return tickets amounting to R13 000. She has only been able to raise R3 000 and still has R10 000 outstanding for her flight ticket in order to take part in the Singapore Malaysia competition on November 4.

Kwazi was selected out of 30 contestants to represent South Africa as a finalist of Miss Culture and Tourism South Africa that took place in Capetown.

“Miss Lumiere is a great opportunity that I do not want to miss out on. The competition will help me build my modelling career and expose me to the modelling world internationally. Therefore I am pleading with the community of Dundee and Nquthu to assist me where they can. This competition will help me build my profile and above all, it will give me the confidence and ability to be creative,” said Kwazikwenkosi.

Raising capital is not easy for Kwazi as she needs funds to turn her dream into reality. “To build social capital and to raise funds out of nothing for greater causes is very difficult,” she said.

The money donated to Kwazi will go towards her flight tickets. Food and accommodation will be paid for by the modelling agency. The competition will run from November 4 – 11.
