1. Free weekly parkrun:

Work out on a Saturday morning in a beautiful place, while meeting new people.

The Grey Goose parkrun is a free, weekly and volunteer-led five kilometre run/ walk, which takes place from 8am at the Grey Goose Game Lodge.

3. Merry Little Christmas Market:

December 1 – The La Gratitude Home For The Aged will host its ‘Merry Little Christmas Market’ from 3pm at the corner of York and Bird Streets. Gifts, homemade confectioneries, Chinese eats and food stalls galore will be available on the day.

4. German Christmas Market:

December 1- The annual German Christmas Market will be held at the Lutheran Church on Ouklip Avenue in
Hutten Heights.

There will be more than 60 stalls selling handcrafted items. Traditional food will be on sale and there will be a beer tent. Come and enjoy the festive spirit with us! Contact Juliane Schütte on 082 886 3720 for more information.

5. Music show to raise funds for charity

The public is encouraged to attend the Geeto Ki Barath Music Festival on December 1 at the Status Hall.

Avish, Risa, Suren,Vishen, Dr Kanada and Vekil are some of the artists who will be performing on the day. The show will start at 8pm and admission is R100 per person. All proceeds from the show will be donated to various temples in town.

6. Distruction Boyz and Kwesta to grace Newcastle Spin City

Spinners from all over South Africa will perform and amaze on December 1.

Gates open at 10am till late. Three options are available:
1) R60 per adult and R30 per child over 12 years, will get you into the spinning event.
2) R160 will get you into the spinning and after party.
3) R450 will get you VIP treatment, this includes access to the Executive Lounge at the after party.
(Buffet meal, Halaal available and soft drinks included at the Executive Lounge) seated area.

7. Hit your target and win big prizes

The Newcastle Bowhunting and Archery Club will host a fun shoot on December 1.
If you’re a modern-day Robin Hood, you can compete for prizes and glory on a course laid out with 22 two- and three-dimensional targets.

The competition takes place at the Mittal Shooting Range Club from 9am, with the first arrow fired at 10am sharp.

Entry fees are as follows: 

R150 per club member, R200 per non-member, R50 per child under the age of 12.
There will also be a cash bar and a bring and braai during the day and spectators/ supporters are welcome.

8. Kilbarchan Golf Club:

December 1 – Greenkeepers Better Ball Competition – there will be multiple tee off times.
