Blind musician delighted with new donated home

Makhaza’s zest for life, despite his disability, was the reason he was identified as a beneficiary by a non-profit organisation known as the Moonjam Foundation.

“Everyone I meet compliments me on my new home – I wish I was able to see it, just for a short time to appreciate its beauty.”

These are the words of Cebolenkosi ‘Khazozo’ Makhaza, a blind musician from Blaauwbosch who recently received a state-of-the-art house.

Makhaza’s zest for life, despite his disability, was the reason he was identified as a beneficiary by a non-profit organisation known as the Moonjam Foundation.

King Goodwill Zwelithini officiated at the home on November 20.

“I feel honoured that the King officially handed over my house,” said Makhaza.

The elated Makhaza said he is thankful for his new abode, as both his parents had passed on and he now relies on his siblings to assist him.

The newly built house consists of three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen area, a spacious lounge and a dining area. However, it lacks basic furniture.

“I would like to cook my first meal in my new home, but I don’t have a stove,” he shares.

To help Makhaza furnish his home or donate any household item contact him on 072 198 8682.
