Estcourt’s Dovetree Avenue ‘looks like a dump’

A Dovetree Avenue resident is embarrassed by the level of service delivery

Overgrown grass has become a common sight in and around Estcourt, but in Dovetree Avenue it seems to be growing to new heights.

Earlier this year, two homeowners highlighted the bad state of the area. Following an article in the Estcourt News, only the long grass was cut.

Months later, a Dovetree Avenue resident is embarrassed by the level of service delivery.

“The place looks like a dump, the grass is very long, the road is still incomplete and the most painful part is that I pay my rates,” she said.

Weeds have taken over the sidewalk and rubble lies strewn on the road side.

The Dovetree Avenue resident would appreciate if at least the long grass can be cut and a clean-up of the roadside done.

“I am even ashamed to host out of town visitors at my home. Please do something,” pleaded the woman.

These concerns have been forwarded to the local municipality for a response.
