Motorists can expect a big fuel price drop in January
This prediction is based on data released by the Central Energy Fund

Some great news to share this morning (December 18) is that motorists can expect a big petrol price drop in January.
This prediction is based on data released by the Central Energy Fund (CEF).
“The SA fuel price has yet to fully catch up with considerably lower international petroleum prices. However, a sharp depreciation of the rand versus the US dollar has been noticeable since December 4 and we will be monitoring this trend closely for the remainder of the month,” said the CEF.
The expected price changes are:
- Petrol – R1.19 decrease
- Diesel – R1.44 decrease
- Illuminating paraffin – R1.32 decrease
Let’s cross our fingers and hope that the new year will be a good start for everyone with regards to the petrol price.
