Two men fined R2K for stealing grass in Vryheid suburb
They promised a member of the Vryheid Tree Committee that they would plant the grass back... but never did.
TWO men were fined R2000 by AbaQulusi Municipality after they were caught stealing grass in South Street.
According to a member of the Vryheid Tree Committee, Magda Viktor, when she approached the two to ask them about what they were doing, they told her that they would plant the grass back.

“They left with the grass anyway. I had warned them that they would be fined R2000 should they not replant the grass,” reported Cllr Viktor.
The Vryheid Tree Committee is still working hard to ensure that Vryheid’s environment is kept clean and looking good despite the many challenges they continue to face.
