Christmas is over and if you still have family and friends visiting and do not know how to entertain them, how about some quick trips in the area that will surely fascinate them:

1. Visit Talana Museum:
This is one of the most historic places in town if you want to know about the areas historical culture and walk in the shoes of those who fought the Anglo Boer War. Talana was the first major battle of the war. The museum has a section devoted to the battle but there are other natural history exhibits as well.

2. Dundee Heritage Trial:
Visit the tourism office and pick up a pamphlet on the heritage trail and go on a trip through history. Visit the Garden of Remembrance near Endumeni Municipality. This memorial commemorates the men of Dundee and the surrounding areas who gave their lives in the cause of freedom during the 1st World War.

 

3. Game drive at Ingudlane Lodge:
If you want to have a memorable experience book the game drive at Ingudlane. Enjoy an exciting game drive through the different scenic terrains, observing a wide range of antelope, giraffe, zebra, and scores of species unique to the African bushveld. The reserve is a haven to a number of bird species, making it a bird lover’s paradise.
4. Enjoy Frisbee Golf at Battlefield Country Lodge:
Whether you are a fan of golf or not you will enjoy disc golf which is popularly known as frisbee golf. This is an excellent opportunity for competitors of all ages to enjoy an outdoor activity with or without the knowledge of traditional golf.

5. Action Cricket at 1 Van Eck Street:
Take a drive to the Industrial area to the cricket action center and sports arena. This is an indoor sporting arena where you can enjoy cricket, play team games that last for approximately 70 minutes. If you want to have fun go and get your heart rate up to keep you fit.

6. Wet and wild adventure at Sibongile swimming pool:
Beat the heat this festive season at the local swimming pool in Sibongile within the Mpumelelo stadium. The children will surely love a splash of water and water games at the pool.
7. Get fit and masculine at Sithembile:
Free outdoor gym to kip fit and healthy this festive season. Children can enjoy the swings at the park as well as other rides.
8. Enjoy soccer tournaments:
Soccer fanatics and sports fanatics can watch soccer matches at Oval sports ground and as well as at Sibongile and Sithembile grounds. Most weekends, local teams battle it out in the field at local stadiums.
9. Take a tour to the Orange Grove Dairy:
You may have to book in advance for this one, friends, and family can get close and personal with cows that produce us the best milk in town as well as other dairy products. This will not only interest children but adults can also learn a thing or two about dairy farming.
10. Eat out at all the best restaurants in town: How can we not include food? There are so many restaurants around town you can pick and choose what your taste buds fancy. We have the Miners Rest at Talana Museum, Dundee Spur, The Lapha and Food Planet just to name a few…
