Update: Angry employees lock themselves inside factory premises, demanding their salaries
The workers spent the whole day and night at the premises, waiting to get paid

Frustrated employees at a factory in the Pieters Industrial Area spent the night at their work premises as they waited for their wages.
Yesterday (February 18), the workers demanded their money, as they were supposed to get paid last week Thursday.
The factory workers told the Ladysmith Gazette that when they arrived at work on Friday, the gates to the premises were locked and they couldn’t get inside. A union member came and spoke to them, and they left.
When they returned to work on Monday, hoping to get paid, the gates were open but the factory was locked except the admin department. That’s when the furious employees locked themselves in the premises in protest over their wages that had not been paid.
“A meeting took place with management and they promised to pay us on Monday morning, but that never happened,” commented an upset employee.
The workers spent the whole day and night at the premises, waiting to get paid. They are currently still at the factory, awaiting feedback from management.
