Newcastle has finally got it's new mayor
At an inauguration this morning, Cllr Ntuthuko Mahlaba was sworn in as the new Mayor of Newcastle.

Newcastle has not had a mayor since mid-January as mayor Makhosini Nkosi resigned to pursue a legal profession career.
Since then, Dudu Sibiya has been the acting mayor of Newcastle.
More about Dr Mahlaba
- Dr Mahlaba was sworn in into the Newcastle Municipality as a councillor in October last year.
- He is also the Chairman of the ANC’s Regional Executive Committee in the Emalahleni Region.
- He is a registered General Practitioner and has a practice in Newcastle
