Angry residents block roads as they demand answers to water issues

Residents blocked off roads and burned tyres, with no vehicles being able to get through

Residents living along Helpmekaar Road and the Pieters road blocked the aforementioned roads last night (March 18) and burned tyres in order to have their demands met.

It is believed that the protesters are demanding answers as to why they have had no water. No vehicles were able to pass through the blockades.

The protest continued this morning.

At this stage, it is believed that the roads are now open for traffic.

It is unknown whether the protest is truly over, as the protesters are still standing next to the road.
