Breaking News: Umzinyathi workers picketing outside the building

All entries to Umzinyathi District Municipality are locked this morning. This is due to the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union (IMATU) and South African Municipal Workers’ Union (SAMWU) workers peacefully assembling outside the building.

Shop steward Thandeka Nonkane and Sipho  Nkomonde are eagerly waiting to hand over the memorandum to Municipal Manager Sipho Ndabandaba.

Amongst their grievances workers are not happy about not being registered after five years of employment and they also don’t have proper safety gear clothing.
