Brace yourself, as the petrol price went up at midnight
Strong oil prices and a weakening rand are responsible for yet another rise in the petrol price, says the Minister of Energy
Yet another petrol price increase came into effect as of midnight (April 3).
Motorists, already feeling the pinch, will now be paying R1.34 more per litre of petrol.

Diesel has increased by 82c a litre.
Minister of Energy Jeff Radebe cited strong oil prices and a weakening rand, among other factors, as reasons for the latest fuel price hike.
“We cannot manage this petrol increase, really! The cost of living is already so high. I pray that the price of petrol will drop, as many people are suffering,” said concerned Ladysmith motorist Mellissa Singh.
