A mother (34) and her daughter (15) were shot dead in the Sun Valley Estates area of Weenen on Tuesday evening (May 21).
The deceased were allegedly preparing supper when at least two gunmen stormed into their rondaval and opened fire on them.
Another family member was also shot, but survived the attack.
Several spent cartridges were found at the crime scene.

The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage and Weenen detectives are investigating a case of murder.
The deceased have not been identified as yet.
