27 calves stolen at Ncome Correctional Centre

Stock theft is on the rise in Vryheid and it seems even big government departments are not safe.

The stock theft pandemic seems rife in the Vryheid area, and it seems even government institutions with high security levels are not safe.

This follows an incident, where stock thieves targeted Ncome Prison.

A whopping 27 calves of around six months old, which had been separated from their mothers only a week before, went missing from the centre last month. The correctional service centre runs various agricultural programs, as a means to rehabilitate inmates, and one such program is its livestock farming project.
