IFP Youth Brigade voices concerns over recent Transnet protest

The IFP Youth Brigade has called on big companies to aid youth development.

Local businesses need to step up and create employment opportunities for the youth.

This is the stance of the Abaqulusi Inkatha Freedom Party (IFPYB) Youth Brigade, in a statement following on the heels of a protest at the Transnet Rehabilitation, Maintenance and Emergency Services (RME) offices a few weeks ago.

“The Abaqulusi IFPYB has decided to tackle these issues head-on, by taking to task the local businesses around Vryheid, including the Municipality, to weigh in regarding youth development. The youth of Abaqulusi elected the IFPYB because they trust us. We will deliver and bring change. The question is how we work together with entities like Transnet to fight poverty and youth unemployment, which will help to also fight crime, drug abuse, and unwanted pregnancy,” said Mndeni Dlamini, IFPYB publicity officer.
