15-year-old Shakaarah Bharath is a young girl from Ladysmith, who has made her hometown proud by representing South Africa at the Global Youth Ambassadors Leadership Summit in Chicago from July 20-27.

Shakaarah among a group of girls from other cities around the world will be discussing world challenges. The Global Youth Ambassadors Leadership Summit encourages teenage girls to become active leaders in their communities and develop solutions to the challenges girls face around the world

Shakaarah will be leaving Ladysmith on July 16 heading to Chicago.
