Managers retain posts despite facing criminal charges

These managers have been charged and they are still working, now the big question remains, is it ok for a person who has been charged to carry on working at the office as normal?

Municipal workers are upset with senior officials at Alfred Duma Local Municipality, being implicated in crime.

Zamokwakhe Majola who is an asset manager in the Finance Department, and Mndeni Vincent Nxumalo who is the distribution manager in the Electricity, are both facing charges of theft, yet are still performing their work duties. The two managers appeared in court on May 21, with their case being postponed to June 28.

One anonymous municipal worker said,”These managers have been charged and they are still working, now the big question remains, is it ok for a person who has been charged to carry on working at the office as normal? If it was the case of an ordinary employee, they would have been dismissed with immediate effect again that leaves me with the question as to if some people are above the law.”
