TK in the driver’s seat at Dundee FedAuto

His experience includes working at BMW as a cleaner, from which he was promoted to parts picker and then parts sales executive, and as a vehicle trader in the Johannesburg area.

New Dealer Principal at Dundee FedAuto, Thokozani Khumalo (TK) is a people’s person, who prefers honesty above all else.

“I am an open book, and I also prefer people to be brutally honest with me when it comes to confrontations and on how they feel about me,” he says.

Born and bred in Nquthu, TK later moved to Mpumalanga with his family and studied in Johannesburg. He attended Parktown College, where he obtained an N3 certificate in Business Studies.

“I started working at an early age, during the school holidays. I worked as a general assistant at Game. When that job fell through, I worked at Debonairs as a kitchen manager.”

TK’s automobile career started when he was offered a job at a vehicle trader in Johannesburg. His experience also includes working at BMW as a cleaner, from which he was promoted to parts picker and then parts sales executive.

“Those were the early days of my career. I worked at Boksburg Auto Suppliers as an adviser and those three years were a prime mark in my career.”

TK joined Dundee FedAuto in April and said he is comfortable there, as it is closer to home, and he is steadily adapting to the administrative side of his work. He admits he is more accustomed to being ‘on the floor’. He enjoys the quiet side of Dundee, and has since joined the FedAuto bowls team to learn the sport.

“Dundee people have been so welcoming and I am getting comfortable here. I just want everyone to know that my door is always open.”
