‘Express my sincerest condolences’
The surviving victim, Lindo Sibeko, said she is still traumatised.

The article further indicated that after being granted parole on condition in 1992, Shange then took on an administrative role in the IFP, and represented the IFP on the Newcastle Local Dispute Resolution Committee (LDRC).
IFP PR Councillor in Newcastle, Reginald Ndima confirmed Shange was still a member of the IFP.
“We have just recently heard about this incident. We are extremely shocked as a party, but would like to send our deepest condolences to the affected families. We feel for them and what they must be going through right now. While Comrade Shange is part of us [the IFP], we must be clear that anything done outside the IFP, is done in a person’s own capacity. We may also feel sorry for him because we don’t know what was affecting his mind and heart at that particular moment in time. We are deeply sorry for the victims’ families,” said Ndima.
The surviving victim, Lindo Sibeko, said she is still traumatised.
“There is not a lot I can say at the moment. I just know I still need to go for counselling. Then, maybe, I will be able to talk about this whole ordeal.”
Khazins Shisa Nyama owner, Mluleki Duma, said he was still confused: “I don’t know what this guy [Shange] is fighting about. I have no idea what he wanted. I spoke to all my security personnel, who said they have never had any altercation with that man. Right now, I really don’t know what to say. I am also still shocked. However, I have met with the affected families to discuss funeral arrangements and express my sincerest condolences. This incident is painful to all of us. We would also like to apologise to our patrons who had to bear witness to such a traumatising thing. I would also like to thank the community for all the messages of support we have received. We appreciate them all.”
Lindani Sibeko and Sabelo Mbatha was laid to rest on June 22, with the funeral service held in the Khazins Shisa Nyama parking lot.
