Youth Day event brightens Bhekuzulu
In celebration of Youth Day on June 16, Khethukuthula Youth Development hosted an event at the King Zwelethini Hall in Bhekuzulu.
Chairperson of the non-profit organisation, Bright Khanyi thanked each person involved in making the event a success.
“We would like to thank all the youth who attended the event, coming out in their numbers to witness the Youth Day celebration,” he wrote. “We extend a special thank you to all the stakeholders, who put everything aside to attend, including Bhekuzulu Clinic, the Adolescent and Youth Friendly Services, Mrs Zwane and her partner from the Tourism Office – who contributed a lot by bringing along the office to the community of Bhekuzulu for the first time in the history of AbaQulusi Municipality, and sharing brochures with our youth. The teachers of Vryheid Comprehensive School were overwhelmed with so much information.”
Khanyi also thanked Vryheid Comprehensive School and its drum majorettes, the community caregivers and the Department of Social Development, which provided catering for the Youth Day event.

“Thank you also to Mqulusi Youth Development and SAPS Crime Prevention. Our gratitude and appreciation goes out to Sbonokuhle Nzuza, PA of the office of the AbaQulusi Speaker and PA of the Mayor’s office, Khanyisile Mtshali, not forgetting Miss Mayise, the hard working social worker from Ward 10, who is always willing to assist in times of need, no matter the situation. Thanks also to Mrs Ndaba, who is always a pillar of strength and assists with school uniforms every year, and to Dr Paruk.”
Khanyi said he hoped all guests had enjoyed the event, and gave assurances next year’s event would be every bit as successful.
