Animal Anti-Cruelty League urges all pet owners not to chain up their dogs and to “fix up” their pets

If you know of any pet owners who are keeping their dogs chained up, please notify the league so that the necessary action can be taken

The Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) is appealing to all cat and dog owners to have their pets neutered / spayed. This will prevent the ongoing problem of homeless cats and dogs roaming the streets.

Neutering / spaying your pets is easy – just take your doggy or kitty to the vet and they will do it for you at a price that is not exorbitant. Furthermore, the league warns people not to chain up their dogs.

Dogs are NOT allowed to be kept on a chain and offenders will be charged. According to the AACL, league workers are out in full force, driving around and monitoring the situation. If you know of any pet owners who are keeping their dogs chained up, please notify the league so that the necessary action can be taken.

“We also urge pet owners to keep their animals warm during winter. Please make sure they have shelter, blankets and enough food and water,” says Annamarie Koen of the AACL.
