Judgement begins for Van Rooyen murder accused

After approximately three years, the case is about ready to be wrapped up by the magistrate.

The 6 accused of the double murder of Billy van Rooyen and Ronnie Lombard, in April 2016, filed into court this morning as judgement in the case began.

The presiding magistrate explained that, while the final documents were handed in on Monday, the accused will remain in custody until all paperwork has been examined. This is in the spirit of a fair ruling.

Court has since been adjourned, with new court date set for Thursday, 9.30am. The magistrate assured the court the matter would be finalised during this session.
