Suspected burglar shot dead in Aviary Hill

A case of murder and attempted robbery has been opened and police investigations continue," said an anonymous source.

A man – believed to have been attempting a break-in – was shot and killed early this morning in the Aviary Hill area.

According to a confidential source, the man had a bolt cutter in hand and was cutting through a burglar guard at around 4am, when the owner shot at him.

Police officials and emergency services at the scene of the shooting.

“The robber passed away on scene and was found with tools, numerous items of clothing on his body, gloves and a balaclava. A case of murder and attempted robbery has been opened and police investigations continue,” said an official source, who asked to remain anonymous.
