A front-end loader was stolen by a group of protesters sometime before midnight last night (February 27) from the Acaciavale landfill site.
Residents saw the machine being driven through the bush by the protesters.
Luckily, police were in the area of Lupin Avenue and responded when they spotted the machine driving along.

The protesters left the front-end loader and fled into the bush when they saw police approaching.
No arrests were made.
Police managed to get hold of the manager of the landfill site and had the machine driven back to the dump yard.
