#SiegeofLadysmith2020 – Roads leading to Acaciavale blocked off, dry taps for days

For now, businesses are opening in the CBD, but no taxis are running

Streets leading into Acaciavale are blocked this morning (February 29) as the protest action continues.

Roosboom is also inaccessible to vehicles.

Stones, boulders and branches are all over the road, making it impossible to get through.

However, no protesters are currently ‘on site’.

People in these areas should be cautious, especially motorists.

For now, businesses are opening in the CBD, but no taxis or buses are running.

According to uThukela, the water situation is still in limbo, as protesters are not willing to back down until their demands are met. They are not allowing workers access to the Ezakheni Bulk Water Treatment Plant.

In the meantime, residents in the Old Ladysmith (Indian) area have been sitting with no water for days, with no end in sight.
