Keeping hunger at bay during lockdown

The meals were pre-packaged and destined for patients who are under the wing of the Ithembaletu Outreach Project

200 freshly-prepared, home-cooked vegetarian meals were distributed to residents in Wembezi last Friday (April 24).
This is thanks to the generosity of the Food for Life Estcourt group.

Food for Life is one of the largest hunger alleviation programmes in the world and serves thousands of meals to the hungry.

In Estcourt, the team also strives to combat hunger in local communities. Following donations from locals, team members cooked up a storm on Friday, making sumptuous vegetable breyani and nutritious dhall.

The meals were pre-packaged and destined for patients who are under the wing of the Ithembaletu Outreach Project.
Sister Beata Msomi delivered the meals to the residents at meeting points in Wembezi.

It was evident that the hot meals were greatly appreciated by the recipients.
