A cardiac patient was airlifted from La Verna Lenmed Private Hospital to Ethekwini Hospital yesterday (June 18).

A Bell 222 twin turbine EMS helicopter from Netcare 911 landed on the Ladysmith High School (LHS) sports field to pick up the male patient.

Speaking to helicopter pilot Neville Christie, he said that the trip would take under an hour (about 52 minutes), with the patient being cared for by two paramedics, namely Avesh Singh and Dean Ramnarain.
