Police rescue stolen cattle from being slaughtered

The Vryheid Task Team reacted to a report of allegedly stolen cattle being hidden in bush veld in the Wats area of Vryheid. On arrival, the team found three cattle tied to trees. Investigations revealed that the stock had been stolen from a farm in Utrecht on June 3. The information the team received was that the stolen cattle were to be slaughtered and the meat sold during pension pay-out in eMondlo. The Vryheid Task Team is still actively operating to curb the theft of livestock in Vryheid and surrounding areas.
