Sarel Cilliers school marks Mandela Day

A symbol of hope in times of need

Sarel Cilliers High School marked Mandela Day on Friday by encouraging the learners to do their bit to transform the world. Librarian Margaret Pretorius took the initiative to crochet blankets for Yolisa Mathe and Nicole Johnson.

“These blankets are a reminder of the difficult 2020 matric year we are facing as a nation. However, this is also a symbol of hope and love for each other,” said Mrs Pretorius, who also quoted Nelson Mandela in saying: “Our children are our greatest treasure.

They are our future. Those who abuse them tear at the fabric of our society and weaken our nation.
