Multiple fatalities in KZN Midlands crash

It was a single-vehicle crash involving a minibus, which veered off the road and crashed down an embankment, coming to a standstill close to a river

12 people, including a child, succumbed to the fatal injuries they sustained after a minibus crashed near Underberg yesterday (October 12).

KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Robert McKenzie who called the incident a ‘tragic crash’ said that it was a single-vehicle crash involving a minibus, which veered off the road and crashed down an embankment, coming to a standstill close to a river.

In addition to the dozen fatalities, three more people were treated on scene for serious injuries.
