
The search for a kidnapped man came to a tragic end when his body was found in a bushy area this past week.
The kidnapping happened on Friday night (November 13) at about 11pm.
It is alleged that the 35-year-old victim was forcibly dragged out of his house after assailants entered the man’s room, where he was asleep with his girlfriend.
Weenen police were called out after receiving a report of a kidnapping by an unknown number of suspects.
The girlfriend informed family members, who started to look for him. They were assisted in the search by other community members.
The search culminated in the grisly discovery of the man’s bullet-riddled body in the bushes.

The deceased had been shot several times in the head and body. When police arrived at the scene, they recovered seven spent cartridges – two for a 9mm pistol and five rifle rounds.
Weenen police opened a murder docket and are currently investigating the matter.
No arrests have yet been made and the motive for the murder is unknown at this stage.
