Ladysmith KZN: N3 re-opened near Ladysmith after protest action
Authorities responded to the scene and the truck was towed away

A truck was used to block the N3 near the Tugela Plaza on the northbound carriageway earlier this afternoon (December 2).
It is believed that a vehicle forced the truck to halt by stopping in front of it. The occupants then allegedly pointed firearms at the truck driver, who is believed to have run into the veld in fear for his life.
The suspects then drove the truck, using it to block the N3. They took the keys and drove off in their vehicle. This is believed to be part of the ongoing truck driver protest action that is affecting many parts of the country.

Other truck drivers tried to make a U-turn upon seeing the vehicle parked across the roadway.
Authorities responded to the scene and the truck was towed off the roadway.
Traffic is moving smoothly again in both directions (north- and southbound carriageways).
