NEWCASTLE KZN: R15K worth of drugs recovered in Madadeni

The estimated street value of drugs recovered is R15 000.

Police members from Madadeni Crime Prevention conducted visibility patrols and stop-and-go searches at Section 2 Madadeni, this morning.

Members received information of a house selling drugs in the area. Police went to the house and recovered 207 pokes of dagga and 7 rolls of dagga in clear plastic bags.

“The drugs were found hidden in the seating room, where a black plastic bag containing loose dagga was also found,” stated Captain Nkosi, Madadeni SAPS Communications Officer.

The dagga weighed 5.35kg and the estimated street value of drugs is R15 000. A male suspect (60) was arrested and charged with possession of dagga. 

“The suspect will appear before the Madadeni Magistrate Court on Monday – December 7,” said Captain Nkosi.
